Offering IKEBANA KIT to Princess Caroline of Monaco

Garden Club De Monaco, the non-profit association, was created in 1968 by Princess Grace (Grace Kelly). Since 1982, S.A.R., the Princess Caroline of Hanover, succeeded Her in the Presidency of the Garden Club. Big friend of nature and in particular, the flowers, She had wished to promote the art of arranging them and arouse the desire to appreciate their beauty better. Garden Club of Monaco develops the artistic sense and the love of nature.


The 47th International Bouquet Competition was held at the Grand Ducal Palace of Monaco (Chapiteau Espace Fontvieille) on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, 2014. This annual competition is hosted and judged by Princess Caroline of Monaco and managed by the Garden Club of Monaco. Mr. Takashi Kimura (Plantica), a young Japanese flower arrangement artist, was invited to exhibit as a special guest.

Kimura(Plantica)’s colorful and creative work, which featured a variety of locally sourced flowers arranged in his original “IKEBANA KIT” vase, was displayed in the center of the venue and attracted visitors from all over Europe. After the opening ceremony, Princess Caroline stopped by and was delighted by Kimura’s explanation of his work and the gift of the “IKEBANA KIT.
