Inspired by the art movement “Impressionism,” which began in 18th-century France, this series applies the Impressionist style of subjectively expressing emotions derived from nature and objects to flowers.

Instead of realistically depicting the beauty of flowers as they are, we aim to express the psychological impressions they evoke, such as their transience, fragility, and instability. The sense of pathos and melancholy that this work conveys is yet another of the flower’s many charms.
