plantica Creates Sustainable, Adaptable Entrance Installation for allbirds Harajuku

plantica designed and produced the entrance object for the Harajuku store of “allbirds,” the brand known for its sustainable shoes made from natural materials.

Design Concept and Sustainability:
Inspired by forests and hills, the installation’s green wall was constructed by upcycling artificial and dried flowers that were unused stock from other events and photoshoots.

The object is designed for versatility: while it serves as a lush green wall during normal periods, it can be adapted for seasonal events by attaching thematic ornaments. Past limited-time decorations have included themes for Christmas, New Year’s, and the spring cherry blossom viewing season.

Founded in San Francisco in 2016, allbirds manufactures and sells shoes made from natural materials such as Merino wool, eucalyptus, and sugarcane. The brand has grown rapidly, expanding to over 40 countries in just five years, thanks to its combination of high functionality (breathability, water repellency), eco-friendliness, and sophisticated design. Its products were named in TIME magazine’s “THE BEST INVENTIONS OF 2020.”

plantica 为 allbirds 原宿店设计并制作可持续升级改造入口装置

plantica 负责了以天然材料制成的可持续鞋履而闻名的品牌「allbirds (オールバーズ)」其原宿店的入口装饰装置的设计与制作。

设计理念与可持续性:
该装置的设计灵感源于森林和山丘。其核心的“绿植墙”部分,是通过将各类活动、摄影布景中未被使用而成为库存的仿真花与干花进行“升级再造”(Upcycling) 精心制作而成。

此入口装置的设计极具灵活性:在通常情况下,它是一面生机勃勃的绿植墙;而在季节性节庆活动期间,则可以通过加装不同主题的装饰品来改变其外观。我们此前曾为其打造过年末年初(圣诞节与新年)以及春季(樱花季赏樱)等期间限定的特别装饰。
