plantica's Participation in "Singapore: Inside Out" in Tokyo

plantica participated as an invited artist in the international art exhibition “Singapore: Inside Out,” held at BANK GALLERY in Tokyo. This traveling exhibition showcases Singapore’s creative talents to the world, and the Tokyo edition was held under the theme “Hyper-City,” attempting a dialogue between the mature urban cultures of Japan and Singapore.

In response to this theme, plantica presented a floral installation titled “EACH SOUND IS A FLOWER.” The work consisted of numerous plastic plates, each containing colorful pressed flowers, suspended throughout the space. It was an interactive piece that swayed in response to the movements of visitors and the flow of air.

The installation was exhibited alongside “MINDSCAPE,” a sound dome work by Singaporean sound artist Zul Mahmod. The joint presentation pursued a fusion of “sound” and “vision,” creating a space where one could visually and audibly “experience sound.” The urban clamor heard amidst the swaying flowers created an illusion, as if it were the voice of the flowers themselves. This setup prompted visitors to reconsider the diversity of sound and the relationship between the city and nature that surrounds them.

Through this work, plantica used flowers as a medium for cross-cultural communication, aiming to foster an awareness not only of cultural differences but also of shared commonalities.

plantica 受邀作为艺术家参加了在东京 BANK GALLERY 举办的国际艺术展「新加坡：内与外」(Singapore: Inside Out)。该展览是一个向世界展示新加坡创意人才的巡回展，东京站以「超·城市」(Hyper-City) 为主题，旨在尝试促进日本与新加坡这两个成熟都市文化之间的对话。

为呼应这一主题，plantica 发表了一件名为「EACH SOUND IS A FLOWER / 每个声音都是一朵花」的花卉装置艺术作品。该作品将封存着五彩压花的塑料板悬挂于整个空间，创造出一件能够随观众的移动和气流而摇曳的互动式艺术品。

展览现场，该装置与新加坡声音艺术家祖基菲里·马哈默 (Zul Mahmod) 的音响穹顶作品「MINDSCAPE」共同展出，追求“声音”与“视觉”的融合。在摇曳的花丛中听到的都市喧嚣，仿佛化作了花朵本身的声音，这种错觉促使观众重新审视自身所处的都市与自然环境，以及“声音”的多样性。
