plantica Directs Venue Decoration for the 68th Izu Oshima “Tsubaki Matsuri” (Camellia Festival)

plantica was commissioned to direct the venue decoration for the 68th annual “Tsubaki Matsuri” (Camellia Festival), an early spring event held on Izu Oshima island (Oshima Town, Tokyo) from January 29th to March 26th, 2023. The main event area was the Tsubaki Plaza within Oshima Park.

Tailored to the event’s theme and venue specifications, plantica created a stunning main visual featuring bold arrangements of diverse camellia varieties. Additionally, newly developed camellia floral graphics were incorporated into various decorative elements such as tapestries, flags, and garlands. These were extensively displayed, immersing the entire venue in the vibrant beauty of camellias.

The decorations further enhanced the stage for performances of local folk arts like “Oshima Folk Songs” and “Anko Hand Dances,” which took place every weekend during the festival, contributing to an atmosphere where visitors could fully appreciate the allure of camellias.

About the Izu Oshima “Tsubaki Matsuri”:
Izu Oshima is renowned for its camellias, with approximately 3 million wild Yabu Tsubaki (Japanese camellias) and over 1,000 cultivated varieties blooming across three internationally recognized Camellia Gardens of Excellence, painting the entire island in rich colors. Oshima Park, the main venue, also features one of Japan’s largest camellia gardens, a camellia museum, and a zoo (all with free admission).

plantica 操刀第 68 届伊豆大岛「椿花节」会场整体视觉与花艺布置

plantica 负责了于 2023 年 1 月 29 日至 3 月 26 日在日本伊豆大岛（东京都大岛町）举办的年度早春盛事——第 68 届「椿花节」(Tsubaki Matsuri) 主要活动场地“大岛公园・椿广场”的整体会场视觉设计与花艺布置。

为契合活动主题及场地特色，plantica 精心创作了主视觉形象，大胆运用了各类品种的山茶花进行艺术组合。同时，还特别拍摄制作了全新的山茶花图案图形，并将这些视觉元素广泛应用于挂毯、道旗、装饰花环等多种布置物料中，使得整个会场空间沉浸在绚烂的山茶花氛围之中。
这些花艺装饰不仅为节日期间每周末上演的“大岛民谣”及“ANOKO手舞”等伊豆大岛传统文艺表演的舞台增添了光彩，更为所有到场游客营造了一个能够深度体验并尽情享受山茶花独特魅力的环境。

伊豆大岛以其山茶花而闻名，岛上不仅有约 300 万株自然生长的薮椿（野生山茶花），更有三座获得“国际杰出山茶花园”认证的庭园，栽培着超过 1000 种园艺品种的山茶花，它们共同将整座岛屿装点得五彩斑斓。主会场大岛公园内还设有日本规模最大的山茶花园、山茶花资料馆以及动物园（均免费入园/入馆）。
