plantica was in charge of the venue decoration for the annual early spring event “Tsubaki Matsuri” (Camellia Festival) in Oshima, Tokyo. We took original photographs of camellia flower patterns that suited the event theme and venue specifications. We also created a main visual featuring bold arrangements of various camellia varieties.

In the main venue, Oshima Park and Tsubaki Plaza, we adorned the space with tapestries, flags, garlands, and other decorations featuring the main visual. The entire venue was filled with the vibrant colors of camellias. During the event period, traditional performances of Izu Oshima’s folk arts, such as “Oshima Minyo” (Oshima Folk Songs) and “Anko no Teodori” (Anko’s Hand Dance), took place on the event stage every weekend. The venue space and event program were designed to allow visitors to fully enjoy the charm of camellias.

At the “Tsubaki Matsuri,” approximately 3 million wild camellias and over 1,000 varieties of cultivated camellias from three internationally recognized outstanding camellia gardens on the island showcased their vibrant flowers, creating a colorful atmosphere throughout the entire island. Oshima Park offers attractions such as Japan’s largest camellia garden, a camellia museum, and a zoo, all of which can be enjoyed free of charge.
